Ikram Ben Said is a feminist activist and Founder of “Aswat Nissa” (Voices of Women), a Tunisian nonprofit promoting women’s active participation in the political spheres and advocating for gender sensitive public policies. Her initiative “Women’s Political Academy” was awarded the 2014 Madeleine Albright Award. Ikram was a member of the Advisory Group of Experts on Youth, Peace and Security. Appointed by Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, Ikram supported the Progress Study on Youth, Peace and Security and advanced advocacy efforts on the UN Security Council Resolution 2250.
