We’ve witnessed how the digital world has evolved and grown at a rate we never imagined. Sometimes it feels like we have the whole world at our fingertips or with a click of a keyboard. Now more than ever we have the ability to cultivate connections or cause great harm and disconnection in online spaces. All we have to do is press “send.” Since July 2021, 108 young women leaders joined a training led by Search with the goal of combating hate speech in the digital space in Sri Lanka. The program engaged Young Women Leaders from Ampara, Batticaloa, Kurunegala, and Puttalam districts. These are their stories.
