“Mentorship Training for Experienced Women Leaders” – SESSION GUIDE

Overall Objective: To prepare experienced women leaders to effectively provide mentorship support for trained young women leaders in designing and implementing community initiatives In Specific, at the end of the workshop participants will be able to:

  • Gain an understanding on key concepts, methodology and timeline of the project
  • Be aware on key context assessment tools to be used by young women leaders in designing their community initiatives
  • Sufficiently understand their role as mentors within the project and develop their skills as mentors to support young women leaders
  • Come up with commonly agreed practice points (Dos & Don’ts) in performing their role as mentors for the project

“Leadership for Co-existence for Young Women Leaders” – TRAINING MODULE

This module provides the base for capacity building training of selected emerging women leaders (which is one of the key activities of the project under outcome 1 and 2) to develop their Leadership qualities with an understanding on the Common Ground Approach (CGA) and Context Assessment Tools. Following the capacity building, trained Young Women Leaders are expected to carry out a collaborative context assessment, and design and implement inclusive peace building initiatives within their communities.

Objectives of the Module Overall objective of this module is to inculcate the leadership skills and competencies among young women leaders and equip them with required attitude, common understanding of the issues, skill sets and tools to effectively groom them to become leaders of peace building and conflict transformation.

IDENTIFYING, COUNTERING & REPORTING ONLINE HATE SPEECH

This toolkit is developed to facilitate a 3-day training program on countering hate speech developed by Search for Common Ground (SFCG) Sri Lanka. The training tool kit include the training modules namely overall landscape of social media, digital advocacy, online hate speech, digital storytelling, online safety and editing tools. It is expected that this toolkit will be used by local resource persons to conduct the trainings for the young women leaders.

A TOOLKIT FOR THE CROSS-DISTRICT NETWORKING PROGRAM FOR THE YOUNG WOMEN LEADERS IN AMPARA, KURUNEGALA, BATTICALOA AND PUTTALAM DISTRICTS

This toolkit is developed to facilitate a 3 half a day virtual cross district networking program implemented by Search for Common Ground (SFCG) Sri Lanka. The project aims to focus on giving the opportunity for the young women leaders to network with each other and share their ideas and experiences in initiating and participating in peacebuilding programmes. Additionally, the program attempts to increase the knowledge of young women leaders on specific subjects such as Gender and Women and Peace and Security (WPS) Agenda which will allow them to strategize how their voice can be used to promote these aspects within their communities. It is expected that this toolkit will be used by local
resource persons to conduct the trainings for the young women leaders.

CyberGuardians Training Curriculum

This training curriculum was developed as part of the CyberGuardians Project in Sri Lanka, funded by USAID from March 2019 to March 2020, and makes up the first part of a two-part resource pack for trainers developed as part of the project. This two-part resource pack provides a comprehensive compilation of the methodologies, tools and resources used in the Cyber Guardians programme. This document is the first part of the resource pack, and contains the training module for the three day residential Social Media Boot Camps that were focused on training regional youth who are interested in learning about responsible use of social media. The second part of the resource pac documents the process taken in engaging and building capacities of the National Champions.
