COVID-19 response and social cohesion

Search for Common Ground, with support from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), has embarked on a research project to undertake a conflict analysis for a better understanding of the conflict dynamics in five districts of Herat, Balkh, and Kabul provinces and analyze the impact of COVID-19 on the overall level of conflict, violence, and social cohesion.

COVID-19 Rapid Response

This four-month (November 1, 2021– February 28, 2022) rapid response action aimed at increasing awareness of COVID-19 best safety practices, and supporting local civil society organizations to distribute hygiene resources in their target constituencies.

Just Future

Funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Just Future project is a five-year-long project which started in 2021. In a consortium led by Cordaid, this program is implemented in six countries: Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, Mali, Niger, and Afghanistan. In each country, the consortium partners develop, implement, and monitor the program in close collaboration with national-level CSOs.

CSOs for accountable justice: Empowering CSOs and media to improve access to justice and provision of Legal aid in Afghanistan.

Given the dire situation of access to justice in Afghanistan, particularly for women and children, Search for Common Ground is implementing a 30-month project to improve access to justice for the most vulnerable citizens, especially women and children, in Afghanistan via both public awareness and working with justice providers.

Afghanistan Accountability Initiative – Ensuring Inclusive Futures

Search for Common Ground is a consortium member of the Afghanistan Accountability Initiative led by Welthungerhilfe (WHH) and funded by USAID. This 3 year project was launched in September 2019 with an overall objective that Afghan civil society is more effective and self-reliant and derives its authority from Afghan citizens, channels their demands and holds duty bearers responsible.

Afghanistan Peace by Piece Project

Recognizing the commitment of the Kabul Process for Peace and Security Cooperation to β€œan Afghan-led, Afghan-owned peace and reconciliation process,” Search for Common Ground is implementing a project in Afghanistan with the overall goal to build a community-driven understanding of the conflict drivers and opportunities for peace to support locally-driven and lasting peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan.
